This week i have looked into three differnt music mgazines, looking at thier media packs with the information about their reader and thier aims. The first magazine was Q which has a median age of 32 with 70% male and 30% female it is published by the Bauer Media Group. I did analysis of the front cover, contents page and a double spread of Q magazine to see how they use codes and conventions. They have a consistent red theme on all of the covers of their magazines with the masthead in the same place.

The second magazine i looked at was billboard thier average age is 47 with 77% male and 23% female. Billboard has a differnt genre type to Q and focuses on the chart music and the pop music gossip and the lastest styles. Billboard have had some changes to thier magazine look, the masthead is now placed down the left side in the first third of the cover whereas they use to have the masthead on the top with the main image covering some of the letters.

The third magazine was Vibe which is differnt to Q and Billboard as they have an also equal percentage of man and women with their median age 30 and 55% man and 45% women. Vibe foucus on culture and soul and have 75% of thier readers Black/Africian Americans. Their target audience is clear on thier covers.
